Custom Cabinets

Are you looking for cabinets for your newly renovated kitchen or bathroom? Well, with the proliferation of large home appliance centers in our country today, looking for bathroom or kitchen cabinets should be the least of your worries. At these centers, you can find an assortment of cabinets-from the plain and simple to the exotically designed, and from standardized cabinets to flexible ones. With all these choices, you’ll surely be able to find the cabinet that best fits your kitchen or bathroom. There are, however, some exceptions to this rule. A kitchen or bathroom with an extraordinary design, for example, also needs extraordinary cabinets. Furthermore, a room designed with a lot of personality must have cabinets that can match that personality. For such cases, stock mass-produced cabinets simply won’t do. Even modular or semi-custom cabinets that offer some levels of flexibility are often not good enough. For such rooms, only a cabinet that physically and aesthetically fits the dimensions and style of the room will do-a condition that can only be satisfied with custom cabinets.

Custom cabinets are cabinets that are designed and made for a specific bathroom or kitchen. Expectedly, you can’t find these cabinets at home appliances centers or any other shop that sells cabinets. Instead, custom cabinets are built either on-site by a cabinetmaker or assembled by a professional in a custom shop.

Custom cabinets offer several advantages over the stock or semi-custom cabinets sold at home appliance centers. First, custom cabinets may come in an unlimited array of styles, sizes, shapes and finishes, unlike stock cabinets that are governed by certain standards. And since these cabinets are often built on-site, you are guaranteed that they will fit perfectly in your bathroom or kitchen.

But just like all other things that offer advantages, custom cabinets also have some downsides. For one, custom cabinets are generally more expensive than stock or semi-custom cabinets. Another disadvantage is installation time. Custom cabinets ordinarily have the longest wait time from ordering to installation. Both disadvantages, however, should be expected, because the cabinet is custom-manufactured rather than mass-produced.
